About the Speakers

Professor Frances Rice is Co-Director of the Wolfson Centre for Young People’s Mental Health, a research centre dedicated to understanding anxiety and depression in young people.  Fran carries out research about young people’s mental health and her main research interest is in understanding what causes depression in young people.  She has published over 100 academic papers and is currently running a research program testing an early-intervention that aims to improve young people’s mental health.  She also investigates the links between school and young people’s mental health.

Dr Jac Airdrie is a clinical psychologist working at the Wolfson Centre for Young People’s Mental Health, Cardiff University. Jac is involved in research that focuses on young people who may need early help and he is currently testing a psychological intervention that aims to protect against depression in young people.
