About the Speaker
Sarah Vaile is Founder and Director of Recovery Cymru Community, an award-winning recovery community organisation in Wales for people overcoming substance use problems. Sarah has almost twenty years’ experience in the field, including supporting individuals, managing teams, programme and system design, recovery in the workplace and new innovations in peer support. Sarah is an experienced trainer, 2011 Winston Churchill Fellow and co-wrote the National Recovery Framework for Wales. Sarah is passionate about the power of community and lived experience approaches, believing wholeheartedly in the ability of those who are so often stigmatised, including those with substance use issues, mental health, and homeless and offending histories, to be creators of solutions to the problems they face and the importance of finding purpose and passion in life.
